I am looking for teachers and students in community colleges / universities who are interested in the EU / France / Brittany to start a virtual exchange, which could be followed by a real exchange via a trip to France / the USA. My students are extremely busy during the school year but could travel to the USA or host a penfriend in July / August. The idea is to discuss different matters related to social studies during the year via Skype / emails / Facebook or Twitter, and hopefully meet the next summer. Rennes is a beautiful city which is ideally located to visit Mont Saint Michel, D-Day beaches / Caen, Paris and even London etc.
I teach social studies in English (American and British civilization / societies / politics and the Commonwealth : India, South Africa, Australia, Canada, Jamaica etc.). My students are proficient in English, sometimes Spanish and German too.
They take part in debates / MUN sessions in English, write essays, translate in both languages, discuss press articles and learn critical thinking.
I am looking forward to starting an exchange program.
