In 2017-2018, Fairfax County Public Schools located in Virginia, USA began the Global Classroom Project. The objective was for students to apply their learning within an interconnected world, while developing 21st century skills. Connections were established with schools in other countries to collaborate on projects and promote global learning throughout the curriculum. Participating teachers built their global partnership based on a foundation of equity and shared experiences and designed authentic learning experiences for their students.
As we expand our project, we are seeking partner schools in France. We are looking for middle and secondary teachers who are eager to collaborate with our teachers on instructional activities that engage students in both countries. Global Classroom Project opportunities include:
– Establishment of sustainable relationships classroom to classroom
– Collaboration on student learning activities in support of one or more of the five
academic pathways: STEAM, Sustainability, Cultural Responsiveness, Language
Acquisition and Content Enrichment.
– Connection between content and the Sustainable Development Goals as identified by
the United Nations.
