This high-school – enrolment : about 1,500 students – is situated right outside of Lyon in the leafy suburban small town of Charbonnières. Our students are mostly from middle-class and upper middle-class families usually rather keen on learning foreign languages and traveling. The abilities and skills of our students are extremely diverse as we are a public school which runs programs to cater to all needs. We also organise and participate in Model United Nations Conferences. 4 foreign languages are taught at our school : English, Spanish, German and Italian.
The English as a Foreign Language Team is made of 10 teachers and I, Emmanuelle, would like to find a partner in the US to try and organise exchanges so as to encourage language learning and develop French-American cultural understanding and friendships in the long run.
I once was a Fulbright exchange teacher in Minneapolis-St Paul, Minnesota, so I am fully aware of how much of an impact such programs and exchanges may have.
I am open to suggestions / discussions on what to do and how to do it.
