An English teacher since 2002, I have discovered FAAX recently and am really interested in the project.
I have been to the USA only once, in summer 2010 (New York and Boston) but I am of course planning to come back.
I live and teach in the south-west of France. I work with a team of several teachers (Aesthetics, Hairstyling, PSHE, Maths, Science, French, History, Business Studies, Art, Sport) in a vocational high school in Hendaye, a city next to Biarritz and in the Basque Country, on the Spanish border.
We are looking for a Partner in order to start an exchange programme in the school year to come (2019/2020). We would really like to organize an exchange trip in the long-term but for the first year, why not start with a virtual exchange?
We are used to sending our students in work placements abroad (England or Ireland) thanks to our Erasmus project dating back from 2014 now. Our students do internships in companies such as a hairdressing or beauty salon, a chemist’s, a perfume shop, or even a spa. We also have a vocational sector called ATMFC which prepares students for jobs such as housekeeping or catering in the hospital sector, the school sector or the hotel business etc.
The educational team are eager to broaden the students’ vision of the trades and make them discover different countries and cultures.
On an exchange basis, we would of course be glad to welcome you to France and support you in a mobility project for your students.
